Montrose United Methodist

Barbara Kastellic

Financial Secretary

Graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education.

Taught 3rd grade in my home town of Holbrook, Arizona with teachers who had taught me. With my husband's National Park Service transfer to a house boat at Rainbow Bridge National Monument followed by several other back country assignments with the Park Service, my teaching career came to an abrupt halt. Upon our move to Montrose in the 70s, I once again found myself in an elementary classroom. Having taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades as well as Chapter I, I retired in the mid 90s. Following my teaching retirement, I have been employed by Montrose United Methodist Church for several years as Program Director (now titled Administrative Assistant) and Financial Secretary

FAMILY: God chose to take my husband, Joe, home to Him in 2002. Together Joe and I have two children, Kimberly and Roy and three grandchildren, Samantha, Kaitlyn and Kevin.

FAVORITE MOVIE: "1776" A musical depicting the debates and struggles of the Continental Congress to write and sign the Declaration of Independence.

FAVORITE BOOK: Any of the Tony Hillerman novels

FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE: Romans 12:6-8 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
